I recently wrapped up reading two books that I thought I would give a quick review of that I think are a great resource for aspiring artists.\u00a0 The first is OUTLIERS by Malcolm Gladwell.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In this book, Malcolm Gladwell\u00a0looks at what makes a successful person.\u00a0 It’s at once inspiring and at the same time discouraging.\u00a0 It makes you plainly aware of just how little control you have\/had over circumstances that have lead you to being the person you are today.\u00a0 It is very encouraging because you also realize that now that you are aware of these patterns and conditions, you can begin to change some of the behaviors you exhibit towards your goals.\u00a0 If nothing else it’s a fascinating book.\u00a0 The 10,000 hour rule alone makes it worth a read.<\/p>\n

THE PERFECT BAIT by Bobby Chiu<\/a>\u00a0is a much more\u00a0applicable book for a creative person and something every artist should look to own.\u00a0 Bobby is one of my favorite artists and listening to him\u00a0speak on his experience\u00a0of being an independent artist is refreshing, inspiring and empowering.\u00a0 This is a great little book full of wisdom.\u00a0 PICK THIS ONE UP!<\/p>\n

Other than that,\u00a0 Adamsville continues slowly but surely right now as I’m finishing up yet another license\u00a0I need for my work .\u00a0 That will end here in a couple of weeks and then it will be full speed ahead.\u00a0 I recently did the math and it looks like I will be done by the beginning of August.\u00a0 I will\u00a0then\u00a0begin the process of pitching the\u00a0book to publishers and agents.\u00a0 So hopefully by October I’ll know where the book is at in the traditional publsihing world.\u00a0 Self-publishing isn’t an option I will be taking until I have exhausted\u00a0the traditional avenues.\u00a0\u00a0In\u00a0April things will get cooking really\u00a0heavily towars the finish like.\u00a0 I can’t wait!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
